Heritage
A Former School, Thoughtfully Converted
The Old Schoolhouse sits just off the High Street of Kinross, a charming market town on the western shore of Loch Leven. The handsome stone school was recently converted into four light, airy houses, and ours is a stylish two-bedroom home with its own private entrance, enclosed garden and two parking spaces, all on one level with no steps.
The conversion kept the building's character: the high ceilings and tall windows of the original classrooms, the stone frontage and the iron railings. Inside, everything is new: a fully fitted kitchen, a king-size and a double bedroom, a smart TV, fast WiFi and the little extras that make a stay easy.
Kinross itself has a long history. Loch Leven Castle, on its island a short walk away, is where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned before her escape in 1568, and Kinross House, built around 1690 by Sir William Bruce, stands on the loch shore. The town's High Street has restaurants, cafes, independent shops and a brewery, all a few minutes on foot.

Hi, we're the Starkeys. We're experienced hosts who offer a true home from home in the heart of Scotland. Before relocating our family to Kinross we hosted holiday accommodation in Edinburgh for five years, and loved meeting guests from all over the world.
