Why Dogs Love It

Walks From the Door, Not the Car

Loch Leven Heritage Trail

A flat, 21km path around the whole loch, starting a five-minute walk from the house. Do a short stretch to the pier or the full circuit. Dogs on leads near the nature reserve, please.

Enclosed garden

Fully fenced and gated, south-west facing, with a patio and lawn. Let them out first thing without a lead in your hand.

Lomond Hills and beyond

Bishop Hill and West Lomond are a short drive for a proper leg-stretch with views over the loch and across to the Highlands.

Dog-friendly town

Kinross has cafes and pubs that welcome dogs, and the Loch Leven Brewery is a short walk. We'll point you to the ones we use.

Practical for muddy days

Hard floors in the kitchen and dining room, a washing machine for towels, and the garden tap for a rinse before coming in.

Owners who get it

Elaine and Ross have a dog of their own. If you have a question about anything from reactive dogs to two dogs, just ask before you book.

Good to Know

Questions We're Often Asked

Is there a charge for dogs? +

No. Well-behaved dogs stay free. We just ask that they stay out of the bedrooms and off the furniture.

Can I bring two dogs? +

Often yes. Please contact us before booking so we can say yes with confidence, and tell us a little about them.

Is the garden fully enclosed? +

Yes. It is fenced and gated on all sides. We would still keep an eye on escape artists and diggers, as with any garden.

Where can we walk from the house? +

The Loch Leven Heritage Trail is a five-minute walk away and runs flat around the whole loch. Kirkgate Park and the pier are the nearest stretch. For hills, the Lomonds are a ten-minute drive.

Are there dog-friendly pubs nearby? +

Yes, several in Kinross welcome dogs, and the Loch Leven Brewery is a short walk. We keep an up-to-date list in the guest guide you receive before arrival.
