The home of golf needs no introduction. Ballot for a tee time or book well in advance for this bucket-list experience. The town itself is well worth exploring, with excellent restaurants and the fascinating British Golf Museum.
Green Hotel Golf Courses, Kinross (5 minutes)
Literally on your doorstep, the Green Hotel offers two courses - the Montgomery and the Bruce. Both offer excellent golf with stunning views over Loch Leven and the surrounding hills.
Gleneagles (20 minutes)
Home to the 2014 Ryder Cup, Gleneagles offers three championship courses in a spectacular Perthshire setting. The PGA Centenary Course is a must-play for any serious golfer.
